What is Energy Works?
Energy works is an ancient treatment – a part of almost every Asian Medicine. It has many names and includes many techniques. In conventional medicine such practice considered a “placebo effect” and “medical hypnosis”. While modern doctors in general sarcastic about effect of that treatment, holistic practitioners use it successfully for treatment of many chronic conditions and acute trauma.
The concept of Energy Healing is based on the ancient knowledge of the body as a “whole body and mind”. As such, it is simple to understand how it works. Energy works is a combination of deep knowledge, training and personal abilities. Can anyone become energy healer? Not really. The ability to manipulate energy in the body is one of the most powerful but also dangerous in the hands of the person with no skills. Almost all holistic practitioners study energy pathways, but only few dare to incorporate that in their treatments.

Various techniques can be used to balance and harmonize the body’s energy systems. Some of these techniques include:

I cannot stress more - acupuncture is just a tool. An acupuncturist who got certificate in 12 month has no idea how to use it in my opinion. It is sad that such practice is allowed here in US. Patients who received treatment from immature "technicians" give that treatment a "bad mouth" stating that it just does not work. Well, think about it - would you trust repair of your car to the child who learned how to hold a screwdriver?
And why would you think you can get treated by a person, who did not study ancient Chinese or Ayurveda principles of body and disease, and just learned to insert the needles? Sadly, it is very difficult to find a good practitioner in California. We try to expand our services, and interview hundreds of candidates each year... just to admit again it was a waisted time.
A true acupuncturist is a Natural Doctor who fully understands principals of holistic diagnosis and treatment. And even more. Check out my post on Holistic Diagnosis.
Energy Balancing with Breathing Techniques
Breathwork is a practice that involves consciously controlling the breath to influence physical, emotional, and spiritual states. Various breathwork techniques can be used to balance the body’s energy systems, including diaphragmatic breathing, alternate nostril breathing, and shallow breathing.
